About The Event
It's time again for the Hoosier Fall ADV Boot Camp!
Hoosier ADV Boot Camp is an opportunity to learn essential off-road skills and techniques based on the Adventure. TAARA, or Tom Asher Adventure Rider Academy, is offering this three-day training event to give you the confidence needed to handle your motorcycle when you leave the pavement behind. Learn how to safely complete any adventure using finesse and skill. Classes from Beginner to Advanced. Huge variety of terrain available.
Classes:
Beginner ADV: This class is strictly for new to off road riders who are already riding on road. A very important class that goes over the fundamentals of off-road riding as well as clutch, throttle, brake, balance, and turning control. We touch on everything from body position, bike recovery, basic bike prep and gear. Definitely a must do class if you want to get into the ADV segment where you will be riding on different terrains including gravel. Any bike is welcome, but the class is structured for larger motorcycles. Class will begin Friday October 11th at 10am Limit is 10 riders.
Intermediate :. Offered specifically at select events. We will focus on balance and turning in technical areas. Everything will be hands on and more off road oriented. We will cross ditches, logs, water(if available), mud. We will learn how to navigate tight trails with a large motorcycle. You will learn hill techniques up and down. This is one of the most fun classes and you will have a great potential to advance your riding ability. Any bike is welcome, but the class is structured for larger motorcycles. A skid plate and hand guards are highly suggested for this class. We prefer for this class that you have already been riding off road and are fairly confident in your abilities. Also a previous intermediate class from us or another trainer is preferred but not mandatory. And don't worry, I have picked up hundreds of bikes. 8) Any bike is welcome, but the class is structured for larger motorcycles. Class will begin Saturday, October 12th at 9am. Limit is 10 riders
Specialty Advanced: This is a brand new class based on learning specific advanced techniques. It is going to wear you out!(warning). This class will be teaching you how to lift the front wheel, 180 spin turns, advanced log crossings and larger obstacles, single track, brake slide control, and jumps. Skid plate, proper gear, and handlebar protection is definitely needed in this class. So if you are already a good off-road rider who can properly use a clutch with only two fingers and want to learn these specialty skills, maybe this class is for you? Any bike is welcome, but the class is structured for larger motorcycles. Class will begin Sunday October 13th at 8:30am. Limit is 8 riders. 2024 speciality advanced class will be a little different from the previous year to accomidate second year students.
