About The Event

Ribfest Adventure Rider Training!   We are offering 2 different classes. (Only 10 spots per class) Beginner, and Intermediate,  All participants will be sent the training venue via email.  

Train with me, Tom Asher, one of the most specialized real-world ADV professionals in the world. These proven methods I teach are 100% effective.  I break these methods down in a way that is easy to understand, and in a progressive manner than has you riding things you never thought possible.

Ribfest Adventure Rider Training is an opportunity to learn essential off-road skills and techniques based on the Adventure. TAARA, or Tom Asher Adventure Rider Academy, is offering this two-day training event to give you the confidence needed to handle your motorcycle when you leave the pavement behind. Note there will only be 10 spots per day availble.

What is RIBFEST ? A BMWMCON Rally? An adventure riders family reunion? Foodie Rally? A big bike trials course event? Bluegrass music jam? Off-road training weekend? It's all these things rolled into one event. And made affordable for all to enjoy. Registration is now open. This event will sell out again! To keep quality you expect - ribfest registration is limited to 200 riders. So don't wait too long to register.

Dinners and Breakfast by MMM Chef Don Stover and Chef Mike.

Thursday night dinner - Gourmet Hamburgers , BBQ beans, chips

Friday breakfast - French toast and sausage

Friday night- Tacos your choice of Chicken, Beef or Chorizo sausage with a side

Saturday breakfast - Breakfast burritos

Saturday The GS GIANTS Trials Course. Be sure to sign up for this at the GS Giant tent - get your number decal to compete in some good friendly competition.

Saturday evening slow races............

Saturday night - All you can eat Ribs and smoked chicken by Ribfest pit masters Jackie Write and company. Sides and dessert are are limited, but Ribs and chicken go late into the night. So if you're a newbie...don't worry...pace yourself..there will be plenty for all :)

Directions & Contact Information

The Rally site is a privately owned farm approximately 50 miles southwest of Nashville.

From the intersection of TN 100 and TN North 48 (there is an Exxon on the corner), ride North 0.3 miles then turn right onto Bells Branch Road.

Ride 1.8 miles then take the left fork onto Bells Branch Trail. This is now a smooth dirt road.

Ride 0.3 miles to driveway on the left. There is a green gate. There will be signs.

Verizon cell phone service is fair, other carriers are spotty.

  • Beginner ADV

    Thursday at 10am: Beginner ADV: This class is strictly for new to off road riders who are already riding on road. A very important class that goes over the fundamentals of off-road riding as well as clutch, throttle, brake, balance, and turning control. We touch on everything from body position, bike recovery, basic bike prep and gear. Definitely a must do class if you want to get into the ADV segment where you will be riding on different terrains including gravel. Any bike is welcome.

  • Intermediate ADV

    Friday morning at 9am. Intermediate Adv class: We will focus on balance and turning in technical areas. Everything will be hands on and more off road oriented. We will cross ditches, logs, water(if available), mud. We will learn how to navigate tight trails with a large motorcycle. You will learn hill techniques up and down. This is one of the most fun classes and you will have great potential to advance your riding ability. Any bike is welcome
